VASS Board member Kay Fulford named to Paralympic Torch Relay

Another deserving VASS member is honoured by a request to carry the torch for the Paralympics!
Kay has served on both the VASS board and the Provincial board (currently VP) for 9 years.  In her provincial role, Kay also chairs the High Performance Committee, whose remit is to develop aspiring adaptive athletes towards the BC Provincial Team.  A race official for alpine and para-alpine events, Kay has volunteered on the World Cup, National and Provincial circuits for several seasons, to help realise her dream to be a part of the Paralympics in 2010.  Her dedication has paid off and Kay will be the assistant Chief of Gates for the Para-Alpine events.  Kay volunteers all year round and has built a partnership between VASS and local charities via the Synergy Foundation, who encourage collaboration between the charities for fundraising activities and community awareness.
Carrying the torch is the icing on the cake for Kay; we are as proud of her as she will be when she’s carrying it and we’ll be there to cheer her on!
